How To Import Your Facebook Subscribers To Rocketbots

A question commonly asked by our users is can they use Rocketbots to message & manage the existing Facebook Subscribers. A sort of Facebook Messenger CRM if you will. Sadly, Facebook doesn't allow Facebook Page owners to import their Facebook Subscribers to any app directly (including Rocketbots), but with this little trick you can import most (if not all) of your Facebook Subscribers to Rocketbots as contacts in just a few clicks. Here are the steps:

  1. Check How Many Facebook Page Messaging Connections You Have
  2. Create a Survey on Rocketbots
  3. Send a Broadcast To All Your Facebook Page Subscribers

Why Must I Import My Facebook Subscribers With A Broadcast?

Facebook only allows contacts to be created once a Facebook user sends a message after you have connected your Facebook Page to Rocketbots. However, Facebook does allow the sending of a broadcast to all your Facebook Page Subscribers.

We've created a way to encourage your Facebook Page Subscribers to send you a message. It works by broadcasting a survey to all your Facebook Page Messaging Connections. Once you're Facebook Page Messaging Connections reply to the survey. You'll have them as Rocketbots contacts.

The first thing you'll need to do is check how many Facebook Page Messaging Connections you have.

1. Check The Number Facebook Page Messaging Connections On Your Page

You'll need to check the number of Facebook Page Messaging Connections to have because Rocketbots plans are contact based. If you have more Facebook Page Messaging Connections than you plan allows, you should consider upgrading your Rocketbots plan. To find out how many Facebook Page Messaging Connections you have:

Navigate to Facebook Page Settings > Insights.

As you can see above, this page has 3,238 Facebook Page Messaging Connections. To import, all these contacts you'll need to make sure you have the Rocketbots Business Plan which allows up to 5,000 contacts.

2. Create a Survey on Rocketbots

Now you know how many contacts you may receive from sending a broadcast to all your Facebook Page Messaging Connections, it's time to create a survey. Why do you need a survey? To encourage as many people as possible to answer your broadcast. Remember, your Facebook Page Subscribers can only become your contacts once they send you a message.

The survey we are creating for this purpose is about mission critical software updates. Rocketbots contacts are used to receiving monthly platform update broadcasts and weekly blog broadcasts. We will now also start sending mission critical updates through our messaging channels. This is a great way to engage our Facebook Page Subscribers that had spoken to our Facebook page before the Rocketbots platform existed.

Navigate to Surveys > Add Survey.

Above we've created a simple survey that allows asks contacts a very simple question: Would you like to continue receiving mission critical updates via this channel. We will end every broadcast with this survey, to give contacts the option to opt out from this type of update.

We've chosen the multiple choice questions type for this survey because it makes it easier to respond with a simple tap. Multiple choice survey's give users possible answers as quick reply buttons. Making it very easy to respond and thus more likely that all or your Facebook Page Subscribers will become Rocketbots contacts.

Now that you have the survey ready. It's time to send the broadcast.

3. Send a Broadcast To All Your Facebook Page Subscribers

Now that you have your survey ready, it's time to send a message to all your Facebook Page Subscribers. To do so:

Navigate to Broadcasts > New Broadcast. Here you'll need to write a broadcast that appeals to all your Facebook Page Subscribers.

We've chosen to write about the change in our broadcast functionality. As Rocketbots users are used to broadcasts with no targeting being sent only to their contacts, we want to make sure everybody knows about this change as soon as possible.

We finish off the broadcast with a survey to ensure that everyone who receives this broadcast can make the choice to continue receiving mission critical broadcasts and become a contact. (If they weren't a contact already.)

That's it, you're done. Now all your Facebook Page Subscribers who engaged with the survey will become your Rocketbots Contacts. Rocketbots is your CRM for Facebook.
